• How long does it take to launch my website?

  A new website can take anywhere form a few weeks to a year depending on complexity and size. An informational site designed to engage your audience into taking action through the likes of creative brand story-telling, service pages, and case studies, generally takes 12-16 weeks.

  For websites that need lots of functionality like e-commerce portals, the time needed can double. For projects that take 6+ months we recommend creating a roadmap of functionality and launching a minimum viable product. It means you can start to gather feedback and release your website much earlier on in the process. Bigger Picture always starts web design from a blank canvas and goes through a detailed discovery process to ensure success. 

• How much does a custom website cost?

  We understand when researching website costs things can get confusing. One web design agency may charge £5,000 and another £50,000, seemingly for the same 'simple' website requirement. We sit somewhere in the middle. We don't do cheep and cheerful templates or run a website production line.

  Instead, we put our all into every project and have a team of in-house strategists, designers and developers working with you to get the very best our of your brand. Our prices start from £10,000 for small business sites but generally our web projects range from £20-60k. 

• Do you ever use design templates or themes?

  No, never. We are a web design agency that believe every brand deserves design tailored to them and their audience. A template that a thousand other brands use is forgettable and who wants that?

• Will my website work on mobile?

  Yes. Our websites look as good on mobile as they do on desktop. Mobile user experience is a key part of success and we take it seriously. Your website will be fast to load, intuitive to use, and optimised for search. 

• Will my website be fast?

  Yes. We're passionate about website performance and our design and development process is engineered to ensure your website will load fast on all modern devices. We use the latest build methodologies to ensure core web vitals are met even on the most creative websites. 

• Will my website be SEO-friendly?

  Yes. Search engine optimisation is considered in every stage of our website process. During discovery we will analyse existing data and agree a search strategy. Our digital marketing specialists work alongside our creative and technical teams to ensure everything from your user journey and sitemap to content, schema and migration plan is covered. We'll also take care of everything during to launch, helping Google to index your new website in the shortest timeframe.  

• What software do you use to design websites?

  We use Figma for our conceptual web design work and then hand-code for the best quality. We also take advantage of low-code solutions like Webflow for simpler sites and embrace AI to save our time and your money where we can.  

• I'm scared of migrating away from my current site, do I need to be?

  Migrating websites can be daunting but we promise to take all the pain away and take care of everything. From exporting and importing historic blog content to ensuring all historic pages are setup with 301 redirects, your new website launch will tick all the right boxes. We'll even manage and monitor Google Search Console including sitemap submission and experience improvements. 

• Who owns the website design?

  You do. We're a web design agency that starts all projects from a blank canvas, meaning all website ownership and IP rights will be assigned to you. We'll also supply all website files on request and do not force people to host with us (although most do choose to). 

• Do you support websites after build?

  Yes. We are not just a web design agency. We offer hosting and maintenance plans as well as design, development and marketing retainers. We are here for long-term success and work with many of our clients post launch to ensure their website looks great and converts.

• Are your websites easy to update?

  Yes. All of our websites are easy to keep updated without any technical knowledge using the latest and best content management systems on the market. 

• What platform do you build websites on?

  A variety. We always design and code the front-end of your website from scratch. When it comes to content management, we mainly use WordPress and Webflow. When things get a little more complex, other frameworks like React and Laravel are utilised.  

• What sectors do you design and build websites for?

  We always strive for sector leading so you won't find us working on website after website in the same industry. We take the time to understand your brand and the world you operate in so we can work in any sector. Most of our work is in the B2B space but love B2C just as much. If your brand has a story to tell, we'll do what it takes to deliver it with the loudest voice possible.   

• Do you only do web design work in Hampshire?

  Bigger Picture is a web design agency in Hampshire but we have clients from all over the world. Whilst we would love to meet face to face at our Old Farmhouse in Basingstoke, we're happy to jump in the car or meet over Teams. We have several clients in and around London too so often hop on the train for a quick trip into the city.
